  • Fake MXQ Pro? Startup screen says S905x but chipset is RK3066. Should I keep it?

I bought an Amlogic MXQ Pro S905W from ****.
When I started it, it showed me a splash screen saying it has S905X chipset, A53 Quad Core but when I used CPU-Z, it showed me it is RK3066 chipset with Mali 400 MP.

The box has 7.1.2 Nougat and works well except for 2 automatic reboots I experienced today.

Should I keep it or return it?

    That's really wierd..
*as rk3066 never got higher then kitkat (4.4 i believe)
Please post a screenshot of CPU-Z and post some pictures of the box ( or better picture of pcb )

I would return it, if it really has a rk3066 chip (its abit outdated chip )
and its not really what you paid for.. Is it?

    Cheers

I doubt a 3066 could run 7.1.2. CPU-Z will sometimes mis-ID SoCs. As to what you should do, I cannot say.

Well, I guess I'm returning it for a refund. Kodi is laggy, I don't care for nougat because I want it to run smoother. Also, it gives me FCs and reboots quite often.
