I have only T428 with 4.1.1 firmware and on it rkremote for sure is not active. I can't use it also if i add ehomemediacenter (that create other problems. often blocks my router)

ok then from your rom try please reboot your stick and when it boots from terminal emulator write:
      Code:
      su
      dmesg>/sdcard/dmesg.txt
      lsmod>/sdcard/lsmod.txt
Then you will have this 2 files in your sdcard. In those files you have almost all the boot process in the stick and lsmod informs you what are the modules that are loaded.

strauzo, can you please explain in some simple steps (and/or URL links) how to put 4.1.1 on T428.
Considering that I will receive my T428 on MON that will have 4.2.2 that does not play Netflix or YouTube,
I would like to switch to more stable 4.1.1 with less bugs. Thank you.

You can already follow this guide:

          http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php.../#.UYvQJJxsPUM

But i think that Bob cab make a cleaner version without some system apps, with the init.d support, the build.prop modified and with other useful stuff.

            Good point.
That being the case, I will wait for Bob's tweaked 4.1.1

OK so this is the deal on the RK mirroring.

              1) MK908 Stock ROM it is not built into the 4.1.1 kernel. It is insmod in boot.img init.rc. This I know as I took the ROM apart and could see it.

              2) T428 4.2.2 Stock ROM it is there. How do I know? Because I tested it and it worked from my Yuandao tablet. But in this ROM it is not in boot.img so it must be built in the kernel.

              3) Generic 4.1.1 ROM. I do not know as I have not tested it. I will later today but I could swear I remember seeing the insmod for it in init.rc

I'm trying to remove completely from the stock rom 4.2.2 of T428 the server part of rkremote (the service to control the hdmi stick from a phone)

I want to do this to start some comparative tests, but I can not.

I have already removed the app ehomemediaserver (annunce only the hdmi stick on lan), but I cannot find the service that keeps the listening socket.

I do not think that this part is only included in the kernel or in a module, because the logcat when active, especially when the device is in standby mode, I see errors from the pid system_server, that manage android system services, when i press a button on the remote on the phone.

Bob, could you explain me how to completely remove this part ? Please.

You can remove it completely making a custom kernel and removing the support for it in kernel (Upps, problem, we don't have the sources to make that) and disabling in init.rc the service, we can do that unpacking the Rom and boot.img and coment the line that init this service. You need Linux installed in your pc and rktools binaries to unpack the Rom, after that, you must use a command, I dont remember it exactly but I will seatch it, or better wait a moment and I will do it for you, please give a link tho the Rom you want to remove this.

I didnt mod any rk3188 rom yet, so i dont know what is it exactly, in rk3066 I must comment the lines:
                        Code:
                           insmod /system/lib/modules/rk30_mirroring_3.0.8+.ko
                        Code:
                        # Mirroring device enable
                            chown media media /dev/mirroring

I'll try tonight, or tomorrow at the latest and let you know if i can completely remove it

I suspect that this part involved in other parts of Android system and not only the kernel and these parts heavily disturb Android.

Infact where is the listening socket ? why i have errors from system_server pid ? these parts can not be only in the kernel.

                            thanks

In init.rc we have to load the module:
                              Code:
                                  insmod /system/lib/modules/rk30_mirroring.ko
And in ueventd.rk30board.rc there is a line to setup the /dev for it I think:
                              Code:
                              /dev/mirroring 0664 media media
Thats the only thing i found in the stock 4.2.2 boot.img about mirrowing or remote service, I hope it can help you. I know in rk3066 kernel sources there is a option in config in Input devices that is enabled by default in my stock kernel "rkxx remotectrl"

                                You mean this CONFIG_RK_REMOTECTL, but

rkxx remotectrl is the hardware little remote control, i don't think is the rkremote server part

from this app i see in logcat some:

/D SoftKeyListener (pid xxx) change KeyCode ......

or errors from the main system_server pid. This mean that there is an android service that open the socket and inject the events in other parts.
