New RockChip3399 gives incredible abilities for mobile platforms and mini PC devices.
Rockchip has unveiled the RK3399 processor back at CES 2016 and this SoC now becomes a heart for new Chromebooks performed by ASUS.
As you can see from the specs this is our first Branded TV Box with SATA port and HDD holder. Device will able to connect 2.5 and 3.5 inch hard drives.
Here is a render of a future housing case for Ugoos UT5

As you can see, we built small OLED screen in order to display status messages and some additional information. USB type-C port we placed on front panel for more convenience.
Test results of UT5 PCBA with Ugoos firmware will be a little bit later, now you can check unnamed boards’ tests on Geekbench
Some research information about SoC you can find on cnx-software.com

Ugoos UT5 will be presented on CES 2017 in Las Vegas next January. Everybody will be able to test device and left quote for pre-order. Pre-order is also available on Ugoos website.

Thousands of brands of mobile batteries exist and we suspect that the most extravagant ones do not really have production capacity. Today this type of battery has become a corporate gift or promotional item. Brands of toothpaste distribute it and some large groups do not hesitate to propose to their employees. In short, you will understand that there are far fewer manufacturers than distributors of these products.

      trebor
There is finally good news from an Intel developer when it comes to the HDMI audio passthrough problems that we’ve been seeing with the Intel Apollo Lake and Kaby Lake based devices that utilize an LSPCon to convert the DP 1.2 signal to HDMI 2.0 signal. Previously DTS-X, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio formats were not working at all under Linux, even if they were ok under Windows.

Why this was important? Well, for example, it was basically impossible to hear any Dolby Atmos content on

      trebor
The low end of the TV box market is now highly competitive with Rockchip and Amlogic battling to offer the cheapest solutions available, as we’ve seen in a recent factory price list of TV boxes with RK3229 based devices selling for as low as $17.8, and Amlogic S905W based boxes going for $17.5 and up (per unit) for orders of 200 pieces. Amlogic has been working on an even lower cost SoC with Amlogic S805X based on four Cortex A53 cores, the same Mali-450MP GPU, but no 4K support, and instead H.264,...
